Chionochloa flavescens, commonly known as Snow Grass or Haumata, is grown for its foliage, golden tassels, and hardiness. It grows as a clump to about 1.5 m high and the same wide bearing narrow, green leaves with a graceful arch. Chionochloa flavescens is a hardy grass that is commonly planted alongside water, mass planted under trees, or individually in rock gardens, or used to line a walkway or driveway.
